Western Star Training

The founder of scouting, Lord Baden-Powell called scouting a "game with a purpose". Keeping scouting fun while achieving the aims of scouting, CHARACTER, CITIZENSHIP and FITNESS, is what Scouting is all about. We achieve this through effective training of both our youth members and adult volunteers. After all... Every boy deserves a trained leader.

Bringing a great Scouting program to our youth takes trained leaders. It takes great volunteers just like you, to deliver the best program possible. We are here to help. There are many resources for you and training is one of them. Thank you for being a great leader!

Adult Leader Overview

Adult Leader Training is fun and informative. Help deliver the promise of Scouting by being prepared. Completing Basic Training includes Fast Start, Youth Protection and Leader Specific Training. Leader Specific Training is just that... specially designed for your job in Scouting. Whether you are a Cub Tiger Den Leader, Scoutmaster or Venture Leader, we have a course designed just for you. Below you will find a description of the courses offered.
Fast Start Training is On-Line Fast Start training is quick, fun and you can do it on-line. Every new leader should complete this first step before working with the youth in any BSA program. Go to the Council web site for Cub Leader, Boy Scout Leader or Venture Leader Fast Start Training today
Youth Protection Training is On-Line Youth Protection Training is a big part of how we keep Scouting the safest place possible for everyone in the programs... both youth and adults.
